Simon Song

A recent graduate of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Simon Song enjoys a broad range of performance styles ranging from solo viola repertoire to orchestral playing, and even the occasional jazz session. The underlying thread that connects these wide-ranging genres is his love for chamber music and the nuanced intricate work that goes into its performance. Having toured extensively across Europe and Southeast Asia, Simon has performed in venues ranging from the Golden Hall of Musikverein, Disneyland in Paris to the Primrose Potter Salon in Melbourne.
During his time at MCM, Simon studied with Markiyan Melnychenko and Wilma Smith on the violin and Wenhong Luo on viola. He will begin his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in September.
