Ame Quartet

Jessica Leigh, violin
Sujie Kim, violin
Simon Song, viola
Lily Dai, cello
Sujie Kim, Jessica Leigh, Lily Dai, and Simon Song are four musicians from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne. They have shared the pleasure of performing just two quartets since their formation earlier this year and look forward to playing more together at Mimir. Sujie is a second-year violinist who has garnered high praise. Jessica is an honors violinist looking forward to a bright future in the arts industry. Lily, a third-year cellist, and Simon, a recent graduate of the MCM, are both studying in London next year at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. They look forward to broadening their musical experiences while bringing a wealth of knowledge they have already attained. The ensemble’s motto is to have fun on stage while delving deeply into the details of each piece they have learned to bring out the composer’s emotions and contextual nuances. Together as the Ame Quartet (French translation of 'soul') they aim to bring a high level of detail to the stage and a uniquely delightful performance.
