Miranda Hollingsworth

Miranda Hollingsworth is a violinist and chamber musician from Houston, Texas. She attends the University of Houston Moores School of Music where she studies under Dr. Kirsten Yon. As a soloist she has won prizes at the Houston Civic Concerto Competition, the High School for the Performing Arts Concerto Competition, and the Fort Bend Concerto Competition. As a chamber musician and part of the Iris Trio, she has won 2nd prize at the 2020 Enkor Competition in their chamber music division, was a semi-finalist in the 2020 Coltman Chamber Music Competition and is an Emerging Artist at the 2020 Mimir Festival. The Iris Trio appeared as guest artists at the 2019 Lone Star New Music Festival to perform “Unmasking Presence” a piece dedicated to the Iris Trio by composer Kyle Rivera. With previous groups, she was a semi-finalist at the 2017 Coltman Chamber Music Competition and was named a 2016-2017 Houston Young Artist. She has had masterclasses with Kristof Barati, Brian Lewis, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the Aizuri Quartet, the Formosa Quartet, Anthony Parce, Mikhail Kopelman, and the Faure Quartet. Outside of music, Miranda loves to cook, bake, and practice yoga.
