Kiara Kim began her musical journey at the age of 7, learning the violin before transitioning to the viola after falling in love with its depthful beauty.
She is currently in her second year of a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne where she was awarded the Corinna D’Hage Mayer String Scholarship upon acceptance. Her passion and love to be able to continue music began in high school after she started learning under Lynley Bramble.
Since then, she has won many awards at local eisteddfods as both a soloist and in ensembles. She is also involved in many ensembles including the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australian New Goldberg Orchestra and string ensemble. Through these orchestral opportunities she is honoured to have been able to participate in various international tours including Europe and China and music festivals in Provence and Vienna.
Some of her musical career highlights include performing in Golden Hall of Musikverein, given live broadcast opportunities on 3MBS radio, and being a 1st prize winner of Summa Cum Laude orchestra competition.
In the future, Kiara hopes to become a successful musician, both in orchestra and chamber music, and continue to spread the joy of music.
