Anna Luebke is currently an undergraduate studying Violin Performance with Dr. Soh-Hyun Altino at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before attending UW-Madison, she studied with Aaron Janse of the Minnesota Orchestra, performed with Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS), and collaborated as a chamber performer with up-and-coming composers in a New Music Minnesota concert series. This year, Anna’s piano trio was a winner of the 2019 Beethoven Chamber Music Competition at UW-Madison.
In addition to the violin, Anna has studied percussion and voice, and she is a 2017 John Philip Sousa Award winner. She has performed in several honors ensembles at both the state and regional levels as a violinist, percussionist, and vocalist. Anna also enjoys working with young instrumentalists and has served as a counselor for GTCYS String Camps and also for their “Harmony” music outreach program.
This January, she had the opportunity to further pursue her interest in community engagement through music with members from the affiliate ensemble of Carnegie Hall, Decoda. Anna has also studied at the Brevard Music Center Summer Institute and Festival and at the Northern Lights Chamber Music Institute.
In addition to her studies at Mimir this summer, she will also be performing at Wintergreen Summer Music Academy.
