Aubrey Holmes
Aubrey Holmes earned a BA from Dickinson College and an MM at The Boston Conservatory. His primary teachers have included Ruotauo Mao, Dr. Geoffrey Yeh, Dr. Blanka Bednarz, Dr. Irina Muresanu, Amy Lee, and Cathy Meng Robinson. In the Boston and New England area, Aubrey has played with MetroWest Opera (Principal 2nd), Symphony Pro Musica (Principal 2nd), Boston Opera Collaborative (Associate Concertmaster), The Cape Ann Symphony (Associate Principal 2nd), Boston Modern Orchestra Project, The Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and The Cape Symphony Orchestra. He was also the Associate Principal 2nd of The Shippensburg Orchestra, as well as having a substitute position with The York Symphony Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, Aubrey was a principal player in Symphony Nova, a chamber music/orchestra group based in Boston. He is also the former 1st violinist of the The Videri String Quartet, a quartet specializing in the performance and recording of video game music. Currently, Aubrey is a violinist in The Heimat String Quartet which formed in the fall of 2014. The quartet is currently completing the graduate string quartet residency at the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio under the tutelage of The Miami String Quartet.
