Timothy Paek

TIMOTHY PAEK, cellist, is a recent graduate of a Master’s in Music program with Dr. Melissa Kraut at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studied with Gregory Beaver, cellist of the Chiara String Quartet. In the fall of 2014, Paek enrolled in the Advanced Music Studies program at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Music, where he studies with Anne Martindale Williams. Paek has participated in masterclasses for distinguished artists such as Peter Salaff, Ronald Copes, Bonnie Hampton, Joel Krosnick and Roger Tapping. He has also worked closely with members of Chiara, Cavani, Cleveland, Juilliard, St. Lawrence and Takacs Quartets. Highlights from 2015 includes a tour of Qatar in March with the Carnegie Mellon Honor's String Quartet, an appearance at Cleveland's HeightsARTS chamber music series, and multiple appearances at Cleveland Institute of Music's Faculty Chamber Music Concerts. Paek has attended several music festivals such as Greenwood Music Camp, Round top Institute of Music, Mimir Chamber Music festival, Garth Newel Music Center and St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar.
