Mark Liu, Viola

Mark Liu, a violist from Parsippany, New Jersey, is an undergraduate student at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Mark Jackobs. He studies chamber music with the Cavani String Quartet and Peter Salaff, and counts Daniel Panner as one of his most important influences. Mark has played in masterclasses for Caroline Coade and Stephen Wyrczynski as well as the Brentano and Pacifica Quartets. He briefly attended New York University’s Stern School of Business before transferring to the Cleveland Institute of Music. Mark hopes to have a busy and fulfilling career playing music and a happy and healthy life. He enjoys cooking, eating, and reading when he is not pursuing musical interests.
