Formed in February of 2014, the members of the Calla Quartet are all sophomores in the Bachelor of Music program at The Colburn Conservatory of Music.
Calla performed at the Norton Simon Museum’s Musical Compositions series in November 2014, presenting works by Bartok, Ravel, Haydn, and Tchaikovsky.
This February, they will work with LA Phil’s theater director Debbie Devine to reach over 5,000 elementary school children through interactive performances at Zipper Hall. Calla has also been featured in several fundraising events for The Colburn School. The quartet will return to perform a second full recital at the Sierra Madre Playhouse in April 2015.
The Calla Quartet is coached by Martin Beaver, Clive Greensmith, and Arnold Steinhardt.
