Formed in the winter of 2013 at the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Benten Quartet is comprised of violinists Carina Vincenti and Colin Laursen, violist Emi Mizobuchi, and cellist Alex Glaubitz. The quartet has worked extensively with Peter Salaff of the Cleveland Quartet, as well as Merry Peckham of the Cavani Quartet, and has performed locally in the Cleveland area as well as at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Additionally, the Benten Quartet has worked with William Preucil and Jaime Laredo, and plans to continue their studies at CIM in the fall of 2014. Benten Quartet has also been chosen as one of the few quartets to attend the McGill International String Quartet Academy, and is looking forward to studying there in August 2014.
