Alex Glaubitz, Cello

Cellist Alex Glaubitz is a first year Masters student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studies with Mark Kosower. Prior to attending the Cleveland Institute of Music, Alex completed his undergraduate degree at the Peabody Institute under the direction of David Hardy. He has been privileged to participate in solo master classes with renowned musicians including Pieter Wispelwey, Mischa Maisky, Joel Krosnick, Julie Albers, Alicia Weilsertein, and Alban Gerhard. In addition, Alex has been a part of chamber music groups throughout high school and every semester of his undergraduate and graduate study. He has been in chamber music master classes with the Emerson Quartet, the Guarneri Quartet, the Borromeo Quartet, the Pacifica Quartet, and the Jupiter Quartet. Alex's summer study has included festivals such as the National Repertory Orchestra, the National Orchestral Institute, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Cleveland Institute of Music's Encore for Strings. When Alex isn't studying music, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and snowboarding.
